Skid steer, bobcat, track loader. Same machine, one phone number.

Around here people call it a skid steer, a bobcat, or a track loader, and they all mean the same thing: a compact loader you can run yourself. Ours is a 2025 Bobcat T66, a 74-horsepower compact track loader with roughly 2,400 pounds of rated operating capacity and a 68-inch bucket. It rides on rubber tracks instead of tires, which is the detail that matters in North Florida. Tracks spread the weight across sand, wet pasture, and freshly cleared ground where a wheeled skid steer spins and ruts.

It is the same machine our crew runs on brush cutting and debris loading jobs, kept in the yard at 10025 State Road 51 in Live Oak, serviced by us, and delivered by the same trucks that deliver our dumpsters. No rental counter, no 1-800 number, no guessing which machine shows up.

What Suwannee County renters use it for

  • Land clearing and lot prep. Palmetto, saplings, and fence-line growth with the brush cutter, then roots and piles with the grapple. Homesites, food plots, pasture edges, and the back forty that got away from you.
  • Driveway and pad grading. Spreading delivered lime rock, crusher run, or fill with the bucket. Long rural driveways, barn pads, RV and shed pads, culvert backfill.
  • Storm and hurricane cleanup. Downed limbs and blown-over trees into a pile, then into a dumpster, without a chainsaw crew and a week of dragging.
  • Demolition and cleanout loading. Old sheds, mobile home tear-outs, barn debris, and burn-pile-sized heaps loaded tight into a 20 or 30 yard can.
  • Farm and property maintenance. Moving round bales, cleaning pens, resetting drainage, and the hundred small jobs a tractor loader is too slow for.

The fine print, said plainly:
  • Attachments are priced in addition to the machine rental. Select yours during online checkout after adding the T66 to the cart.
  • All equipment and attachment rentals are subject to applicable sales tax.
  • Delivery and pickup are included within 15 road miles of our Live Oak yard. Additional distance is billed at $5.00 per mile each direction.
  • Every rental starts with a signed rental agreement and a hands-on orientation at delivery.

Where we deliver the skid steer

The 15-mile included zone from our yard on State Road 51 covers Live Oak, Wellborn, McAlpin, Dowling Park, O'Brien, and most of Suwannee County. Beyond that the machine still goes out every week, at $5 a mile each way, to Lake City, Branford, Mayo, Jasper, White Springs, Madison, Fort White, and High Springs. Not sure of the mileage? Text your address to (386) 243-4447 and we will answer with a delivered price.

Have your own trailer? Pick it up. The T66 weighs roughly 9,300 pounds, so you need a trailer and tow vehicle rated for it, with proper tie-downs. We will load it and chain it with you at the yard.

Why rent from Muckpro instead of a rental chain

  • One machine, one owner, kept right. A 2025 model that our own crew depends on. It is greased, serviced, and full when it leaves.
  • Rates on the page. The big chains and aggregator sites make you call, then quote a machine from a yard in Jacksonville or Gainesville plus a delivery fee. Ours is 15 miles away and delivery is already in the price.
  • Weekend friendly. Most of our renters are property owners who work Saturday and Sunday. Friday drop, Monday pickup is normal here.
  • The attachments that fit this country. A grapple and a brush cutter for palmetto and pine scrub, not a bare bucket and a shrug.
  • A dumpster on the same truck. Cleared brush and demo debris need somewhere to go. Book the can and the machine together and one delivery handles the property.

Rent it, or hire our operator?

Every rental quote comes with the honest alternative: our operator running the same machine. Rent when the work spreads across days and you are comfortable in the seat. Hire the operator when it is a one-day blitz, access is tight, the material is heavy, or you want the debris in the can when the machine leaves. See operator services.

Requirements & safety

Valid ID, signed rental agreement, card on file for the deposit, and the hands-on orientation at delivery. Seatbelt every start, no riders, loads low, and 811 before any digging. Full details on the equipment rentals page.

Pair it with a dumpster

Grapple work makes debris move. A 20 or 30-yard roll-off on site means everything you load leaves when the machine does. One delivery, one property, done.

The T66 books in the same online portal as our dumpsters. Add it to the cart, pick your attachment at checkout, and the owner confirms the plan by phone before the machine rolls.

Skid steer rental FAQs

How much does it cost to rent a skid steer in Live Oak, FL?
Our Bobcat T66 rents for $450 per day or $1,500 per week with the standard bucket, delivery and pickup within 15 road miles of Live Oak included. The root grapple adds $100 a day or $300 a week, the brush cutter adds $200 a day or $800 a week. Monthly rentals are quoted by phone. Sales tax applies.
Is the Bobcat T66 a skid steer or a track loader?
Both, in everyday language. The T66 is a compact track loader, which is a skid steer on rubber tracks instead of tires. Tracks spread the weight so it floats over sandy or wet North Florida ground where a wheeled skid steer digs ruts. If you have been searching for a skid steer, bobcat, or track loader rental, this is the machine.
What attachments come with the skid steer rental?
The 68-inch standard bucket is included with every rental. Add the Rake Master HD root grapple for brush, limbs, roots and debris, or the Paladin Bradco brush cutter for palmetto, saplings and overgrown fence lines. Attachment availability is confirmed when we book your dates.
Do you deliver the skid steer, or can I pick it up?
Either. Delivery and pickup are included within 15 road miles of our Live Oak yard on State Road 51, and billed at $5 per mile each direction beyond that, which still covers Lake City, Mayo, Jasper, Madison and most of the surrounding counties. If you have a trailer rated for roughly 10,000 pounds with proper tie-downs, you are welcome to haul it yourself.
Do I need a license or experience to rent a skid steer?
No special license. You need a valid ID, a signed rental agreement and a card on file for the deposit. Every rental starts with a hands-on orientation at handoff and nobody signs until they are comfortable. If the job is a one-day heavy push, our operator is often the better buy.
Can I rent the skid steer for a weekend?
Yes. Weekend rentals are common for property owners who work Saturday and Sunday. Call (386) 243-4447 with your dates and we will set up a Friday drop and Monday pickup.
What if it breaks down or I get stuck?
Call us. Mechanical issues are on us and we would rather come help than have you wrench on it. Getting stuck happens; getting unstuck wrong is what breaks machines.
Can I rent a dumpster with the skid steer?
Yes, and most land-clearing and cleanup customers do. A 20 or 30 yard roll-off on site means everything the grapple loads leaves when the machine does. Both book in the same online portal.
